Here is a brief guide to the services we offer. Please contact us preferably by e-mail at [email protected] or call on 01480  418 866. We will try to call you back within 3 working days. Please remember to leave your mobile phone switched on.

Who can we help?

We can help any individual or couple, regardless of race, religion, background or lifestyle, who wish to sort out their debts.

How much does it cost?

Our services are completely free, with absolutely no hidden charges or donations.  Some external agencies such as County Courts or the Insolvency Service may charge fees. You will be advised in advance if this is the case.

What will happen next?

We will make a mutually convenient appointment for you. Please bring somebody with you if you would like support. We see clients in our offices (please see map) although we occasionally see clients elsewhere if practical.

Your trained debt adviser will take a positive and practical approach to advising and helping you to manage your debts.

What to bring to your first visit.

It is essential you bring all documents relating to your finances including any unopened letters from creditors etc.  Also recent bank statements, utility bills (gas, electricity, water, telephone and internet) credit card statements, rent, council tax and all letters asking for money from whatever source. If you have savings please bring details of these.

Please bring details of income for yourself and your partner, including wages, benefits, and any other sources such as child maintenance.

Your adviser will take copies of these documents at your visit and return your originals

How does it work?

When you meet your adviser he or she will take you through the process carefully and explain the options available to you, so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed. The options might include a repayment plan agreed with creditors or an insolvency process, such as a Debt Relief Order.

We can help you prepare a budget, suggesting ways in which you might be able to increase your income and manage your expenditure to help you stay in control of your finances.

We can contact your creditors (the people that you owe money to) on your behalf and negotiate with them.

When we have enough information we will explain the options available to you for managing your debts.

Your adviser will make new appointments as appropriate.

What are we not able to do?

  • We cannot lend money to our clients or pay their debts;
  • We are not authorized to provide advice on investments, pensions or mortgages;
  • We cannot advise on business debts.
